Assingment for Days
Dear Prof.Jeff,
Today, I would like to say something about the article “Factors Predicting Effective Oral Presentations in EFL Classrooms” of Junko Otoshi on Asian Journal.
The article mentioned to Japanese students but I like it and find many things like in Viet nam so I want to write about this.
In Viet nam the speaking skill is not good in many cases, students can’t say want they want and the abilities of speaking is not good. I think it is very nescessary to pay more attention and find or apply new methods in teaching and learning speaking skill of English. Reading the article, I like 2 tables a lot because they are very worth and necessay for teaching and learning English. Some tasks and techniques in two tables I never do but I find they are good and worth for teachers and students in developing the speaking skill. Using technologies in oral presentation is one aspect of teaching and learning language. The technologies play an important role in EFL presentation classes. As the article, teachers and students can evaluate the oral presentation. In the oral presentation the presenter can use body language, eye contact to the audience and powerpoint presentation to connect the audience. The presenter can understand what the audience more interested in and change the ways to present.
I have taken part in some oral presentations using high technologies. I find that they are more attractive and colorful so I want to learn and to do like that. But in fact, I haven never used high technologies in oral presentation and teaching. I only use body language, eye-contact in oral presentations or teaching. Reading the article I know more about using high technologies in oral presentation not only body language. Applying technologies in teaching English, oral presentation and evaluation presentation will reach higher achievements. But for me it is new, first I have to learn how to use technologies effectiely in using for presentation, learning, and teaching in the future.
I know that there are some diffirent between countries such as Japan in the article and Vietnam. I am sure that both teachers and learners have to learn more, apply technologies in EFL classes effectively. I myself am trying to do that in this course and in future teaching at school.
Thank you for your help.
Yours truly,
Son.
